ARVSS typically takes in stray dogs that need some sort of medical attention beyond spaying/neutering. We have had many dogs that needed surgeries and extensive medical care due to being hit by cars, gunshots, and burns. We work with a great vet clinic in Madison that helps the dogs in ARVSS repair not only broken bones, but many other ailments to save our dogs and provide them with their best life for when they leave the rescue. Without ARVSS taking the dogs into the rescue, and the great work All 4 Pets Veterinary Clinic does, many of them would not survive.

Because ARVSS takes in these dogs needing medical attention, we spend much of the year fundraising to be able to provide medical attention to the dogs and give them the best possible future. All medical expenses are paid for by the rescue through various fundraising events and donations from generous individuals and local companies. ​The raised funds pay the veterinary bills from the surgeries and medication costs that are needed to treat the dogs. We always need volunteers to help us raise funds and to foster dogs until they are able to find forever homes. ​​
